Amphibians
Every spring the "Bund Naturschutz" Ebern puts up a fence to protect amphibian, so that they will not be killed while crossing the street. The fence is near Jesserndorf on the side of the street from Ebern to Haßfurt. About 1000 amphibians (touts, frogs and others) are brought over the street in buckets every year.
people who put up the fence
On this picture you can see the poeple which helped putting up the fence on 6th March 1998. Because of the rain, this year only about 30 people took part.

Landscape maintenance
In spring and autumn every year have an action where we mow and keep up a meadow with fruit trees. What we cut out there is being brought to the "Lindenhof" where it is composted.

Fruits
a) building and maintenance of two fruit meadows
b) Advertising for fruits from our region with an action called apple party, which is celebrated every year in our city hall.
- Here are apples pressed out and directly after this as juice selled.
- There is a specialist, whom visitors can bring there apples and he tells them which sort they are.
- Information and quiz
c) fruit-exchange
Here can people come who have no own fruit trees and buy fruits which are grown in our region.

Swallows
We control the store and hang on artificial nests.

batBatsbat
In our region there are 22 sorts of bats. They life in warm places like attics in the summer and cellars in the winter. In the attic of a castle in our region 1995 about 2000 bats were found.
But we control there store not only in attics, but also in cellars in the winter. For example in 1995 there 248 bats found in cellars in our region. These aren't as much as in the summer. This is because in the winter there are normally only one or two bats in one cellar and we aren't able to look in every one. (If you want to know the how much bats from which sort we found which year, you can either go to our German homepage or write us an email.)
